1. Emigrant Trail Marker
Inscription. As early as 1852 wagon trains of overland emigrants crossed 600 feet to the north into Shasta Valley and Yreka; and at this point the 1857 Military Pass from Fort Crook emerged to join the westward emigrant road.
 
Erected by California State Park Commission, The Siskiyou County Historical Society and the County of Siskiyou. (Marker Number CHL 517.)
 
Location. 41° 33.54′ N, 122° 12.558′ W. Marker is near Weed, California, in Siskiyou County. Marker is at the intersection of U.S. 97 and Military Pass Road, on the right when traveling north on U.S. 97. Touch for map. Marker is in this post office area: Weed CA 96094, United States of America.
