1. Site of Tunnel Marker
Inscription. Site of tunnel which took workers under the RR tracks to the car shops. Established in 1897 the Merchant Despatch Transportation Co. was largely responsible for the early growth of the village.
 
Erected 1997 by E.R. Local History.
 
Location. 43° 6.863′ N, 77° 29.03′ W. Marker is in East Rochester, New York, in Monroe County. Marker is at the intersection of East Maple Street and Main Street, on the left when traveling east on East Maple Street. Touch for map.
