1. Gosport Shipyard Marker
Inscription. Gosport Shipyard, which later became a United States Naval Shipyard, was established in 1787 by Andrew Sprowle. In 1833 the first drydock in the United States was opened in this yard.
 
Erected 1970 by Fort Nelson Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.
