1. Charles Martin Hall Marker
Inscription. Hall's invention of electrolytic manufacture of aluminum was first applied to commercial production in 1888 by the Pittsburgh Reduction Company, which later became Alcoa. This process, developed here, made the commercial use of aluminum possible.
 
Erected 2013 by Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
 
Location. 40° 27.692′ N, 79° 58.242′ W. Marker is in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in Allegheny County. Marker is at the intersection of Smallman Street and 32nd Street, on the right when traveling west on Smallman Street. Touch for map. Located in front of H.C. Harrington Company in Pittsburgh's Strip District. Marker is in this post office area: Pittsburgh PA 15201, United States of America.
