Inscription. Destroyed 1779 by General Sullivan Indian name "Chequaga", after Catherine Montour, a Seneca queen.
Erected 1949 by State Education Department.
Location. 42° 20.212′ N, 76° 50.213′ W. Marker is in Montour Falls, New York, in Schuyler County. Marker is at the intersection of South Catharine Street (New York State Route 14) and Havana Glen Road, on the right when traveling south on South Catharine Street. Touch for map.
