Regarding National Distilling Co.. Architects Crane and Barthausen designed this office and storage structure for the National Distilling Co. in 1893. During Prohibition, the liquor distillers began producing Red Star Yeast. M.A. Lichter Co., Inc., a contract window treatment and floor covering firm, has occupied the space for over 30 years during which time the building has undergone extensive renovation and remodeling.
