The Reverend Lucien Galtier
erected near this site
the Chapel of Saint Paul
from which this city
derived its name

In 1841 and in the month of October
I caused some logs to be cut, prepared
and put up and soon after a poor church
of logs and fitted so as to remind one
of the Stable of Bethlehem was built.
Now the nucleus of Saint Paul was
formed. This church thus remained
dedicated to Saint Paul and I
expressed the wish to call
the place by no other name.
