Sponsored by the State Agricultural Society, the fair was held here, October 18-21, 1853.
 
Erected 1948 by Archives, Conservation and Highway Departments. (Marker Number H 45.)
 
Location. 35° 46.787′ N, 78° 37.38′ W. Marker is in Raleigh, North Carolina, in Wake County. Marker is on New Bern Avenue east of South State Street, on the right when traveling east. Touch for map. Marker is in this post office area: Raleigh NC 27601, United States of America.
