1. Horsehead Copper Marker
Inscription. This “Horsehead Copper” was the first coin in the Nation to bear the motto “E Pluribus Unum” . It was minted in this site in 1786.
 
Erected 1930 by Rahway Womans Club.
 
Location. 40° 37.187′ N, 74° 16.908′ W. Marker is in Rahway, New Jersey, in Union County. Marker is at the intersection of St Georges Avenue and River Road, on the left when traveling south on St Georges Avenue. Touch for map.
