1. Federal Entrenchments Marker
Inscription. The intrenchments of which vestiges are visible from here were constructed by the Federal garrison detailed to guard the Federal Army hospital which was situated a short distance from here. This construction took place following the fighting around Chattanooga which resulted in the withdrawal of Confederate forces in November, 1863.
 
Erected by Tennessee Historical Commission. (Marker Number 2A 54.)
 
Location. 34° 59.101′ N, 85° 21.255′ W. Marker is in Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, in Hamilton County. Marker is at the intersection of Lookout Mountain Boulevard (Tennessee Route 148) and Lula Lake Road, on the right when traveling east on Lookout Mountain Boulevard. Touch for map.
