1. Limestone Marker
Inscription. Settled in 1784 by Edward and John Waller and George Lewis. Named Maysville 1787. Pioneer river gateway to the new west. Located on lands owned by John May and Simon Kenton.
 
Erected by Kentucky Department of Highways. (Marker Number 68.)
 
Location. 38° 38.861′ N, 83° 46.013′ W. Marker is in Maysville, Kentucky, in Mason County. Marker is at the intersection of West 3rd Street (Kentucky Route 8) and Sutton Street, on the right when traveling west on West 3rd Street. Touch for map.
