1. George Colbert Memorial
Inscription. This monument is to memorialize Chickasaw Chief George Colbert who operated a river ferry, travelerís stand, and had a home on this Natchez Trace site. Colbert Co. AL was named in his honor.
 
Erected 2014 by Chief George Colbert Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Location. 34° 50.205′ N, 87° 56.678′ W. Marker is near Cherokee, Alabama, in Colbert County. Marker can be reached from Natchez Trace Parkway (at milepost 327.3), one mile north of N. Pike (County Road 21). Touch for map. Marker is located at the Colbert Ferry Park on the Park Road 0.3 miles east of the restroom facilities. Marker is in this post office area: Cherokee AL 35616, United States of America.
