1. Confederate Cemetery Marker
Inscription. The Confederate Cemetery in Raymond contains the graves of 140 Confederate soldiers who were killed during the battle of Raymond on May 12, 1863, or who died as a result of their wounds. Most of the men were from Tennessee and Texas; many died in homes and public buildings that had been appropriated as temporary hospitals. Union dead from the battle of Raymond were initially buried here but later moved to the Vicksburg National Cemetery.
 
Erected 2009 by Mississippi Department of Archives and History.

Location. 32° 15.331′ N, 90° 25.679′ W. Marker is in Raymond, Mississippi, in Hinds County. Marker is on Port Gibson Street 0.3 miles south of Palestine Street, on the right when traveling north. Touch for map. Marker is in this post office area: Raymond MS 39154, United States of America.
