Inscription. A soldier in the Indian Wars. And his wife, Elizabeth, 1771–1845, Daughter of Revolutionary Soldier James Whitaker and his wife, Catherine Petit.
 
Erected 1984 by Jeffers Family Association as a memorial to their ancestors. Erma Jeffers Hagan, Historian.
