1. Military Road Marker
Inscription. Built by War Department 1817-20, to connect New Orleans with Nashville. Suggested by & named for Gen. Andrew Jackson. Soon became an important commercial & telegraph route.
 
Erected 1952 by Mississippi Historical Commission.
