who was buried here about 1870 on this the Old Military Road which ran from Ft. Bidwell in Modoc Co. to Ft. Crook, Shasta Co.

 
Erected 1939 by Native Daughters of the Golden West, Mt. Lassen Parlor No 215 and Native Sons of the Golden West, Big Valley Parlor No. 211.
