1. Saintonge Regiment Marker
Inscription. During the siege the Marquis de Custine was encamped here with his troops. After Yorktown the Marquis served in the French Assembly and commanded armies in France. He was guillotined during the terrible days of the French revolution.
 
Location. 37° 13.533′ N, 76° 32.333′ W. Marker is in Yorktown, Virginia, in York County. Marker is on Historical Tour Road one mile west of Crawford Road (County Route 637), on the right when traveling east. Touch for map. Located in the French Encampment Area of the Yorktown Battlefield. Marker is in this post office area: Yorktown VA 23690, United States of America.
