1. The First Capitol Building in Michigan Marker
Inscription. This corner stone of Michigan's First capitol building was laid September 22, 1823 and the structure was completed five years later. It housed the county courts for a time and later was given over to legislative sessions. The building was burned on January 27, 1893 , and the following year the site was made a public park.
 
Erected 1926.
