——————————
This memorial had been dedicated to those of the Plainfield area who gave their all for their country in the War Between the States, April 12, 1861 to April 9, 1865. Time and the elements have long since eroded their names from this stone, but what they gave will long live in the hearts of all Americans who believe in their cause. Being reset after the tornado of August 28, 1990, we rededicate this memorial in their honor.

Erected 1991 by Marne Post No. 13, The American Legion.
