1. Evergreen Marker
Inscription.  Site of Evergreen Home Institute (1856); Henry Clay Kemper, 1st headmaster. Later became Evergreen College; then Evergreen High School in 1904. These schools had a note-worthy influence on education in Avoyelles and Louisiana.
Erected 1985 by Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism.
Location. 30° 57.334′ N, 92° 6.545′ W. Marker is in Evergreen, Louisiana, in Avoyelles Parish. Marker is at the intersection of Main Street (State Highway 29) and College Street, on the right when traveling north on Main Street. Touch for map.
