This apparent attempt at renaming the Bird Island Pier has not taken hold. Google maps uses Bird Island Pier as the name.

Location. 42° 54.777′ N, 78° 54.167′ W. Marker is in Buffalo, New York, in Erie County. Marker is on Robert Rich Way 0.2 miles south of Ferry Street Bridge, on the right when traveling south. Touch for map. Marker is at the beginning of the Bird Island Pier at the south end of Unity Island and Broderick Park. Access is via the Ferry Street Bridge from Niagara Street (NY Route 266) and over the Black Rock Channel to Unity Island. Marker is in this post office area: Buffalo NY 14213, United States of America.
