1. William Reece House Marker
Inscription. Constructed in the period 1834-1844 by William Reece, local Constable. Stopping point on Charlotte to Goldsboro stagecoach trail. Birthplace of Joseph Reece, founder of Greensboro News and Record. Later home to J. Harper Johnston, 1881 Jamestown Mayor. In 1904, home to F.L. Bevan, renowned dog trainer to visiting gilded age patrons including J.P. Morgan, Jay Gould and Pierre Lorillard.
 
Erected by Historic Jamestown Society.
 
Location. 35° 59.56′ N, 79° 57.23′ W. Marker is in Jamestown, North Carolina, in Guilford County. Marker is on West Main Street 0.1 miles west of Parkview Terrace, on the right when traveling west. Touch for map. Marker is in this post office area: Jamestown NC 27282, United States of America.
