1. Camp Stokes Marker
Inscription. Confederate camp of instruction for conscripts and prison for deserters was located here in 1864-1865. When the war ended, 200 Union prisoners were held here. Camp Stokes was commanded by Major Jesse R. McLean of Greensboro.
 
Erected 1987 by Col. John Sloan Camp, 1290, Sons of Confederate Veterans.
