Richard Caputo
April 25, 1948 – September 22, 1968
Richard Caputo was the only resident of Rocky Hill to be killed in action during the Vietnam War. Richard was drafted into the Army and attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC).His Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) was Armor Reconnaissance Specialist (11D10). PFC Caputo began his tour of duty on July 11, 1968 and was killed on September 22, 1968 as a result of small arms fire in Hua Nghia, South Vietnam at the tender age of twenty. Richard can be remembered on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall on Panel 43W-Row 061.
