1. Mt. Moriah Cemetery Marker
Inscription.
Mt. Moriah Cemetery. . The Union Township Trustees operate and maintain the cemetery. It is situated on land purchased in 1800 by Withamsville founder, Maurice Witham. Interred here are some prominent pioneers and citizens - - the Witham family, Indian fighter Richard Stockton, and State Representative Dr. William Doan (1832). The original cemetery has been enlarged to over 50 acres. The vault was built in 1877, the iron fence in 1880. Additional iron fences were erected in 2000.
