1. The "Lee" Tree Marker
Inscription. This white oak tree is the offspring of the mighty white oak which stood in Hanover County, Virginia, for more than 400 years before being destroyed by Hurricane Isabel in 2003
History relates it provided shade for Robert E. Lee and his staff during the Civil War.
This tree is a gift of Mr. Glenn Gray of Surry County, Virginia
