Texas 1936 Centennial Markers and Monuments Historical Markers
In 1935/1936 the State of Texas Legislature created a commission to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Texas independence from Mexico. Part of this consisted of placing about 1,100 statues, and granite and bronze markers and monuments around Texas.
