On March 6, 1865, John Frecht and wife Mary sold lot to Jacob Getz.
On March 6, 1872, Jacob Getz and his wife Mary sold the front portion of the lot nearer the street to the School Board of East Cocalico Township.
On November 26, 1877, the back portion of the lot was sold by Jacob and Mary Getz to the school board.
School was in session for grades 1 thru 7 in this Church Street building from fall of 1872 until the spring of 1955 when the school district was changed.
This beloved old Church Street school building was sold at public sale in 1955. There were eight be- nevolent citizens to whom we declare a "Thank You". Each of the eight men put up $500.00 of their own funds, $4000.00 total, to save this building for you, the community.
