A leader on one of the most suffocating defensive units in school history in 1982, he was a big-play maker from his inside linebacker position. He once recorded 21 tackles in a single game. By the time he left LSU, he held school records for most tackles in a game, a season and a career, He was named All-American and All-SEC in 1982.
