1. Why Lincoln Bricks Were Better Marker
Inscription.  
This building, known as the New Boiler room, was attached to a unit known as the gas producers. This gas was produced from coal. Producer gas was different from illuminating gases because no by-products such as smoke or coal tar were released. The brick company also claimed that by using a more effective control of heat a superior brick was produced. (Marker Number 6.)
 
Location. 42° 46.162′ N, 84° 45.893′ W. Marker is near Grand Ledge, Michigan, in Eaton County. Marker is on unnamed park road 0.2 miles west of Tallman Road, on the left when traveling south.
