1. U.S. Vice President Marker
Inscription. Adlai Ewing Stevenson, 1835-1914, one of four Kentuckians - more than any state, except New York - who were U.S. Vice Presidents. Others were Richard M. Johnson, John C. Breckinridge and Alben W. Barkley. Stevenson, born here, moved to Illinois, 1852. Member Congress two terms. Elected Vice President with Cleveland in 1892. Bryan's running mate in 1900.
