1. Louisiana Gold Star Families Memorial
Inscription. The Louisiana Gold Star Families Memorial Monument pays tribute to Families who lost a Loved One in the service of the United States Armed Forces.

The Homeland panel represents the state of Louisiana. The state seal features a pelican tearing flesh from its own breast to feed its young. The pelican and its three young are surrounded by the Louisiana motto: "Union, Justice, Confidence."

The Family panel honors each branch of the military and their families, their bond, and our state''s collective support of Gold Star Families.

The Patriot panel depicts the inspiration and patriotism of our United States Armed Forces with the iconic rendering of the raising of the American flag on Iwo Jima in World War II.

The Sacrifice panel honors those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to the United States of America and the families they left behind Their sacrifice will not be forgotten.
