1. Roseneath Cottage Marker
Inscription. Today, the Roseneath Cottage is the center of operations for the Smithtown Historical Society. Built in 1918, it originally was home to Col. Verne La Salle Rockwell and his wife Marcia Lawrence Rockwell. It bears some features of the Arts and Crafts architectural style. The Rockwells were dedicated to the preservation of Smithtown's heritage, making their former home an appropriate headquarters for the society.
