Inscription.  This building erected in 1797 was for many years a public tavern
 
Erected 1936 by State Education Department.
 
Location. 42° 58.95′ N, 73° 52.87′ W. Marker is in Ballston Spa, New York, in Saratoga County. Marker is on Middleline Road, on the right when traveling north. Marker is buried in foilage. Regarding Colonial Inn. "The court-house stood on the west side of the road, opposite the large dwelling-house, formerly a tavern, now owned by David R. Harlow,, rented, however, to other parties.
