Inscription.  This "low head Mucker Shovel" was built by the St. Louis Shovel company, which later became the Goodman Equipment Corporation, to meet the specific requirements of the St. Joe Lead Company. In use it simulated the movements of a man using a hand shovel. The dipper operated equally well in small or large piles of ore, dumping it into the cars for removal from the mine. It could load 250 tons per 8 hour shift. Donated in 1973 by the St. Joe Lead Company.
