Regarding East Pike General Store. The building is older than 1875. This year likely refers to when an addition was built and it was renovated to turn it from a home to a general store. One can see the seams where the additions have been built off of the original building. While I have yet to find definitive record that this was a home before it was a store, and I haven't found a date for when the original part was built, my theory is justified by the nearly two dozen similar houses in the area. There was a brickyard on the other end of town and this building has near identical brickwork to the other buildings which were built in the 1840s-1860s.
