Inscription. Army Air Corps Reserve Field and first Kansas City, Mo., air terminal, 1922. First air mail flight, Chicago-Kansas City-Dallas, May 12, 1926. Named for Lt. John F. Richards II, first Kansas City air service death, Europe, World War I. Renamed Ong Airport, 1943.
