1. James W. Dillon House Museum Marker

Inscription. This house was built in 1890 as the home of James W. Dillon, the father of Dillon County, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Purchased by the Dillon County Historical Society in 1967, it was moved to this site and restored as a museum to preserve a record of those who contributed to the development of Dillon County.

Erected 1971 by Dillon County Historical Society. (Marker Number 17-2.)

Regarding James W. Dillon House Museum. The house was originally located at 1st Avenue and Washington Street. It consists of a parlor, office, sitting room and dining room on the first floor. The kitchen is attached to the rear of the house. The second floor has five bedrooms. Many items used to furnish the house are original items used by the Dillon family.
