More about this marker. This marker is the second Memorial on the Quantico National Cemetery Memorial Trail. This marker was placed to honor the Sixth Marine Division and unveiled on 5 October, 1995. This is the first of two "Striking Sixth" Memorials honoring the Division which won the Presidential Unit Citation for its action on Okinawa during World War II.
