Lawyer, Industrialist, Patriot Brigadier General, U.S.A.
Gen. Burke helped rebuild Alabama’s mining & manufacturing interests after the Civil War.
He helped establish the Catholic Church at Jacksonville.
His home, “Bellevue,” occupied the present site of Jacksonville State College.
