To all the brave souls who passed
through, served, and died here at the
site of the Northern Department
Supply Depot, Fishkill, New York.
1776 – 1783
May their spirit of dedication be
rekindled within the souls of all who

In adjoining fields, barracks were built by Gen. Gates under orders of George Washington to accommodate an encampment of over 2000 soldiers. The Van Wyck home served as Army Headquarters for Gen. Gates, Gen. Putnam and Col. Hay. Frequent meetings were held here by Lafayette, Von Steuben, John Jay, Alexander Hamilton and other patriots.

This pyramid is constructed of stones from over 50 different historic sites, including Saratoga, Yorktown, Bennington and Fort Ticonderoga.

Beneath the pyramid is buried the remains of an Indian Maiden discovered by a road crew digging a trench on nearby Jackson Street.

8. Van Wyck House
This house, built in the early 1730s, was the site of the Northern Supply Depot during the Revolutionary War. Over 2000 American troops encamped in the vicinity and the house served as headquarters for Israel Putnam.
