Inscription.
A tribute to all Seabees, past - present - future. Built by the members of N.S.V.A. Island X-8 of the Niagara Frontier, Tonawanda, NY.

CMA3 Marvin Glen Shields, NCB Team 1104. Citation: For action on 10 June 1965 at Dong Xoai, Vietnam, the President of the United States in the name of the Congress, takes pride in presenting the MEDAL OF HONOR posthumously to Marvin Glen Shields 1939-1965, Construction Mechanic Third Class, United States Navy.

Erected 1996 by N.S.V.A. Island X-8.

Memorial is in Fisherman's Park which is sandwiched between River Road and the east branch of the Niagara River. Touch for map.
