Location. 43° 12.991′ N, 78° 25.85′ W. Marker is in Ridgeway, New York, in Orleans County. Marker is at the intersection of Fruit Avenue (County Route 41) and Dublin Road, on the left when traveling south on Fruit Avenue. Marker is along the towpath of the Erie Barge Canal at the southern terminus of Fruit Avenue where a canal bridge has been completely removed, leaving the abandoned bridge approach. Fruit Avenue is essentially a 3.2 mile dead end road from Ridge Road (NY Route 104) except that School Road, at the midpoint, connects with Marshall Road which does bridge the canal. Touch for map.
