1. Bayou Folk Museum Marker
Inscription. Home of Kate Chopin 1880-1883, renowned writer of Creole Short Stories set in famed Cane River Country. Best known for "Bayou Folk" and "A Night in Acadie". Home built in early 1800's by Alexis Cloutier on Spanish Land Grant No. B 17.01.
 
Erected 1970 by Louisiana Tourist Commission.
