Created to honor the people of Elmira for their spirit and determination to restore and beautify the Queen City after the devastating flood of July 23, 1972.

"This is out home town and nothing under God will take it from us."

Location. 42° 5.282′ N, 76° 48.133′ W. Marker is in Elmira, New York, in Chemung County. Marker is on East Water Street (State Highway 352). Touch for map. Marker is affixed to a small work shed near the fountain. Marker is in this post office area: Elmira NY 14901, United States of America.
