1. Stephen Foster Marker
Inscription.  The great writer of folk songs and ballads lived in Towanda in 1840-41. He attended Towanda Academy on the hill a short time and stayed with his brother William, a canal official.
 
Erected 1947 by Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission.
 
Location. 41° 46.122′ N, 76° 26.586′ W. Marker is in Towanda, Pennsylvania, in Bradford County. Marker is on Main Street (US 6). The marker is in front of the First Citizens Bank. Touch for map. Marker is in this post office area: Towanda PA 18848, United States of America. Touch for directions.
