World War II Memorial Tree. Historic Landmarks of Lake Ronkonkoma. By proclamation: The "world war two Memorial Tree” stands in honor on the former Girardet property corner. Planted By Commodore Bunny Gubner circa 1945. It memoralized ENS David Girardet USN, and all world war two Veterans living in Lake Ronkonkoma. Stand tall Mighty Tree, continue to be the landmark that our veterans first see once again home, and serves as a reflection of the honor and respect to all veterans in our Great Country. All veterans are welcome here and will continued to be honored by Lake Ronkonkoma.
