William Cooper's wedding gift to his
daughter Ann
and George Pomeroy, druggist. Under the
east eaves, stonemason James Allen
placed their initials: G.A.P.C. (George,
Ann, Pomeroy, Cooper) beneath a crude
eagle. J. Fenimore Cooper, Ann's brother,
frequented the house and wrote of Allen
as "Scotch Jamie" in Wyandotte.
The Cooperstown Historic District was placed on the
National Register of Historic Places in November, 1980.
