1. The Steam Locomotive No. 1 of Taiwan Railway: "Teng-Yung" Marker
Inscription.
The Steam Locomotive No. 1 of Taiwan Railway: "Teng-Yung". . Teng-Yung, the first steam locomotive of Taiwan Railway history, was manufactured by Hohenzollern in 1887. Teng-Yung was purchased from Germany when the Governor General Liu Ming-Chuang was building the railway from Taipei to Keelung. Yu-Fong the same model with Teng-Yung was brought to Taiwan in the meantime. They had been running among Taiwan from 1888 to 1924 . Yu-Fong was dismounted and sold in parts in 1928. Teng-Yung has been preserved and displayed in the park till now., Teng-Yung was not equipped with coal tanks because it was originally designed for railway construction. Therefore, its speed and traction is limited. With too many sparkles flying out from the funnel while running, the tube shape funnel was changed into diamond shape for better performance in 1906.
