Johan Frederik IJisberg
Amsterdam, 19 oktober 1900 - Soest, 19 november 1942

on his colleagues in the Havenstraat depot to stop working that day in protest against the persecution of their Jewish fellow townspeople. For this he was arrested on November 14, 1941 in Amsterdam and executed on November 19, 1942 at Soesterberg Air Base. During his imprisonment, he wrote more than 500 notes, hidden in the seams of laundry, to his wife and their four children. His farewell letter ended with the words: 'Dear Too, for the last time, we are not allowed to commemorate our wedding day, but be brave like me and that you may still enjoy the children, greetings and kisses. Your loving husband and father, my greetings to all."
